Laborer or Apprentice

Laborer and Apprentice

Job Description:  The Apprentices and Laborers are important members of the company.  Apprentices and laborers bring fresh energy and a helping hand as necessary.  



Job Responsibilities:  

  • Attend training sessions as assigned

  • Attend 50% or greater of company sponsored events

  • Accept feedback from supervisors as part of an ongoing process of learning and becoming better every day

  • Report all tardinesses and/or absences to team leader

  • Request approval for overtime hours worked beyond ten hours a week

  • Ask questions if the expectations from your team leader are not clear enough

  • Assist field technicians, warehouse manager or office personnel as requested

  • Actively participate in the annual review 

  • Conduct yourself in a way that will protect the interests and safety of all employees and the company.  

  • Come to work neatly groomed and dressed appropriately for the work you will be doing

  • Keep all work areas cleaned to include the vehicle, machinery, shop, warehouse or parking lot where you are assigned to work (varies daily)

  • Promptly report any equipment, vehicles or tools that are damaged, defective, or in need of repair.  

  • Exemplify being a good steward of the company abiding by all Employee Handbook rules, requirements and policies

  • Stocking shelves with inventory

  • Sweeping shop and parking lot

  • Maintaining a clean area surrounding dumpsters and recycling area

  • Empty community trash cans if ¾ full (breakroom, classroom, shop, warehouse areas)

  • Perform parts runs and equipment deliveries as requested

  • Shop duties as assigned

  • Snow Removal rotation clearing parking lot for shop and warehouse, doors and walkways

  • On call as part of weekly rotation for snow removal as outlined from November 1 through April 1

  • Minimum work hours are 7:30 am - 5:30 pm Monday - Friday

  • Other tasks as requested by others



Application Prerequisites:

High school diploma or GED (or actively in pursuit)

Valid Driver’s License and full insurability as a driver meeting insurance carrier’s requirements

Sufficient auditory functioning and visual acuity to operate computer-aided call management software and communications equipment



Reports to:  Dispatcher (DSR)
